More than just play—exploration, interaction, & problem solving.

At CCC we value play-based learning. Through play, children can develop their social, emotional, cognitive, speech, and motor skills. Play-based learning is open-ended, objective, and voluntary. Children are given the opportunities and prompts to dive into a world of imagination and fun. To them it may feel like they are just playing with toys and friends, but in reality they are developing a sense of the world around them through inquiry, exploration, interaction, and problem solving.

Our Approach

Each week our lead teachers turn in lesson plans based on the Creative Curriculum. Lesson plans are reviewed by the Program Coordinator to ensure they are developmentally appropriate and encourage children to meet milestones and explore new things. Days are thoughtfully planned out with the interests of the children in mind, including a new theme presented at the beginning of each week—such as oceans, camping, insects, and more.

Parent teacher conferences are held each Spring. Parents are invited to meet with their child’s teachers to discuss their progress throughout the year. An “Ages and Stages Questionnaire” is filled out by the teachers ahead of time that covers each developmental domain. In addition to asking questions, this is a great opportunity to discuss any concerns.

Additional Offerings

  • Music Program

Twice a month Mr. Ryan visits each classroom at CCC to teach the value and joy of music through song, dance, and playing instruments.

  • Infant Program

We know that childcare is a big transition for you and your child. That’s why our infant teachers are here to work with you so your child can make the smoothest transition possible. We also want to make it smooth for the parents, which is why we offer a breastfeeding friendly environment.

  • Spiritual Curriculum

Spiritual development in early childhood is less about learning facts and information, and more about developing the capacity to wonder, listen, and find meaning through stories and symbols. Because CCC families come from a variety of faith backgrounds, our aim is to complement, not compete with, what each child is learning at home and in other settings.
