Play-based learning and care for children 6 weeks to 5 years old.

Welcome to the Child Care Center of First Presbyterian Church of Asheville!

Established as a mission of the church in 1968 to serve the needs of working parents in the community, we are now a separate nonprofit center with a Board of Directors made up of parents, church members, and other community members.

Our center has a 5-star child care license—the highest rating for child care centers in North Carolina—with a maximum enrollment of 110 children. This rating shows that we are committed to excellence in education, staff, and high program standards.

We are open to all children and families—regardless of race, color, religion, nationality, disability, or creed—who may benefit from our programs.

Our Mission

Provide children with the highest quality of early childhood education and guidance in a loving, nurturing environment with committed, educated, and experienced staff.

Our Philosophy

Our purpose at the CCC is to serve others—the children attending our child care center, their parents, and our staff—and strive to promote the intellectual, physical, mental, social, and emotional development of each child in our care. We consider ourselves partners with parents and families in the rearing of children and believe this partnership encourages the highest level of growth and development for children.

Safe & Fun Environment

We are here to provide a warm and secure environment for children while their parents are working. Our teachers are dedicated to providing developmentally appropriate learning activities and lessons through creative, hands-on experiences to help each child develop the skills essential for success both in school and in life.

Play-Based Learning

Our curriculum is based around play-based learning, an open-ended, objective, and voluntary approach to teach children social, emotional, cognitive, speech, and motor skills. Additionally we offer a bi-monthly music program that teaches children about the joy of music through song, dance, and instrument play.

Food Program

Breakfast and afternoon snack are included in tuition. Milk is also provided with breakfast and lunch. Lunch is sent from home and must be entirely nut-free. Accommodations can be made if your child has any dietary restrictions.
